GLARC – Supernormal Kids Party !

This album was recorded at a drop-in workshop run by GLARC at Supernormal Festival 2022. Various kids of various ages came and recorded songs or sounds for a couple of hours in the heat, on bits of wonky recording equipment, as well as making some album artwork for the cassette.

The workshop was facilitated by Charlotte, Laurie, Joel & Sarah. Songs were edited and compiled onto tape afterwards by Joel & Gordon. Big thanks to Alice and everyone at Supernormal and all the parents / musicians who turned up, lent gear and helped too, and even bigger thanks to the amazing musicians who came and recorded stuff: Zora Bliss, Rin Taylor, Agatha Dearman, Fred White, Hazel Healy, Luka, Etta, Christo Wallers, Dusty Roberts, Rowan Mae Locke-Flynn, Minnie Edkins, Juno, Ida, Una and Gwen, Nino and Oscar, Jessamie, Pheobe, Mr Guitar Man, The Aliens and a bunch of people who ran off without leaving their details.

This cassette run comes as a limited edition of 50, each with individual hand-made art from the workshop. Each tape will be different and may not be in the photos (a couple come in a loo roll tube!). All proceeds from the tape will go towards the No More Exclusions initiative: “a Black led anti-racist organisation working to build an abolitionist grassroots movement in education”.
